I was
born in Exeter and brought up in the seaside town of Dawlish in Devon. I studied
Interior Design and 3d Design in college for 5 years leaving with good grades. I
had a few different jobs in Interior Design until 1992 when the recession took
hold and then it was a case of taking any job to make ends meet. In 1995 I set
up my own business producing illustrations for Architects and Property
Developers. In order to supplement my income I took a part time job hand
painting tiles for a local company. Follow the links below to see some examples
of my work. I produced some good work but in the end technology took over and
computers started being used to produce the type of drawings I was specialising
in. I was not interested in producing computerised artwork so between 2000 and
2002 I retrained so that I could get a job in office administration.
I am
now working for as a finance clerk in a centre for adults with learning difficulties. I
have always enjoyed working with and being able to help people so when this job
was advertised I knew that I would like it. No two days are the same which makes
the job interesting and being part of a team which aims to make a difference to
a section of our society that are often overlooked is rewarding.
My
main interests are gardening and dress making. We only have a small garden at
the back of our house but I’ve re-designed it from a fairly boring patch of
grass to something a bit more interesting, and enjoy planning new themes of
colours and textures for each year. Click on the link below for more on our
garden.
I
learned dressmaking from my mother and older sister, I enjoy designing my own
styles and colour schemes. In the last year I have made a number of skirts and
trousers as well as a waistcoat. I make more garments for my bottom half as I
can never seem to find shop clothes that fit me. I have included some pictures of
my recent creations on the page linked below.
Paul
& I also enjoy walking together and taking photo’s of the Devon Scenery
and wildlife.
