Pinhoe is a village on the outskirts of Exeter, I want to do some research into the villages history, however one interesting legend is that Pinhoe church still receives a regular tribute from the monarchy for it's role in spying the Spanish Armada on it's way to Plymouth and sending forth a warning.

One of the main features of living in the area that we enjoy are the many walks from the village most of which lead to the church and beyond.

We came across these chaps on our regular walk at the back of our house early in December, I think they are a local breed (Red Devon), they had lovely long eyelashes and each seemed to have a unique hairstyle.

Behind the main group is a solitary cow which is where the entire group were when we found them. It was funny to watch their progress towards us. One cow would pick up sufficient courage to make a few steps towards us and the rest would follow in a line until they got to where the brave cow was, and there would be a pause. With numbers on their side another cow would pick up courage to make a few steps nearer and so the group would progress.

A couple of weeks later they were gone, presumably they ended up as christmas dinner.

On the same walk I took this photo trying to capture the feathery textures of this group of trees. The photo doesn't do the effect justice but it kind of gives you an idea.

One of the farms along our regular walk has just started farming ostriches, they were hard to photograph last time we saw them, but hopefully we'll get some photo's of them soon.
